Five new staff members appointed
Big Dutchman in Asia strengthens sales team

Big Dutchman Asia (BD Asia), Shah Alam, Malaysia, is pleased to announce the following new staff members joining the regional sales network. These appointments will further strengthen BD’s position within Asia and mark the company's continued commitment to the region.
Peter Leong has been working for three years as International Sales Administrator whereby he has gained a lot of in-depth knowledge on the Big Dutchman range of equipment. Peter has now been promoted to a Sales Representative and will be working closely with the existing sales team to further strengthen the Big Dutchman brand in Malaysia.

Ken Ng Chik Meng recently joined Big Dutchman as a Sales Representative. He will be working jointly with the existing sales team and is primarily responsible for both cage & floor systems in Malaysia. Ken has eight years experience in the poultry industry.

Christian P. Dizon has been appointed as Sales Manager and will be responsible for poultry equipment sales for The Philippines. Christian will be working closely with the sales team and distributor to promote the Big Dutchman brand. He holds a Bachelor of Agriculture majoring in Animal Science and has over ten years of poultry industry experience. Christian is based in Philippines Central Luzon.

Le Trong Tri recently joined Big Dutchman as Sales Manager for poultry equipment in Vietnam. Tri is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He is responsible for sales and support concerning Big Dutchman’s line of poultry equipment and will work jointly with the existing sales and distributor team. Tri holds a Bachelor of Animal Science and has over ten years experience within the poultry industry.

Chhoun Samath joined Big Dutchman Asia’s sales division as Sales Representative for poultry equipment. Samath is based in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh. He will be responsible for looking into new business opportunities for Big Dutchman in Cambodia. Samath holds a Bachelor of Agriculture.

Secretary of State visits Big Dutchman subsidiary in Malaysia
BD Asia receives high-ranking visit from Germany

Dr. Gerd Müller, the Parliamentary State Secretary from the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture and his delegation recently visited Big Dutchman Asia (BD Asia) in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The visit to the subsidiary of the German Big Dutchman Group took place within the context of an official trip to Asia. BD Asia’s management team, namely Brian McCawley, Vice President Sales & Marketing Asia, Kok Fatt Chin, Vice President Purchase & Logistics and Chris Tay, Controller, were present to extend a warm welcome to the guests and provided them with extensive information about products and activities of the world's leading supplier of poultry and pig equipment in Asia Pacific.
The State Secretary was particularly impressed by Big Dutchman's 4,000 m2 logistics centre located just outside Kuala Lumpur. “With the establishment of a regional logistics centre in Malaysia we now have a network of partners & suppliers offering more cost-effective quality solutions and faster responses to the needs of our customers in Asia & Oceania regions. The logistics center was specifically targeted to serve our customers in line with BD’s philosophy of ‚customer first’” Brian McCawley explained to the visitors.

Hung Farm inaugurates impressive broiler facility

Hung Farm, a partner of CP Vietnam, recently celebrated the opening of its latest broiler production facility. CP Vietnam is a subsidiary of the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP group), Thailand’s biggest agribusiness conglomerate. The impressive state-of-the-art facility Hung farm with 18 broiler houses is located in Dong Xoai, Binh Duong Province north of the Vietnamese town of Ho Chi Minh City. The entire equipment covering modern management and environment control systems was supplied by Big Dutchman Asia (BD Asia).
Over 1000 invited guests took part in the grand opening. Also present were Mr. Vu Manh Hung, President of Hung Farm, Mr. Sooksan Jiumjaiswanglert, Executive Vice President of CP Vietnam as well as Mr. Nguyen Duc Kien and Mr. Nguyen Dang Vang, two representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture. Malaysia-based BD Asia, a subsidiary of the German Big Dutchman group, was represented by Mr. Brian McCawley, Vice President Sales & Marketing Asia.

We are honored that we have once again been selected by the CP Group as their trusted partner and we are glad that we had the chance to further strengthen our relationship in this major project. The successful completion of the project, totaling 18 broiler houses, is a true milestone for Vietnam, being the first modern farm of this scale” Mr. Brian McCawly commented on the new facility.
The official part of the event was completed with speeches from a list of speakers and dignitaries, followed by a signing ceremony between Hung Farm and Big Dutchman. Hung Farm which is projected to produce broiler, layer and pigs was then officially opened with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony after which the guests enjoyed self-guided tours of the premises and equipment demonstrations.


Big Dutchman USA strenghtens its positon in the poultry market
Marc Larson new International Sales Director

Mark Larson has joined Big Dutchman USA’s team in the capacity of International Sales Director effective on the 15th of April, 2009. In this position he will be responsible for all Big Dutchman USA’s international sales for its poultry equipment line, except Canada. Mark’s long sales management career in the Latin American territory started in the early 1990’s with Wallace International and included in recent years work with Farmtek and Hired Hand. His most recent position was as Vice President of Sales with Platinum Advanced Technologies.
Mark will be based in Holland, MI where Big Dutchman’s headquarters for the Americas are located. Tom Wallace and Raquel Black will continue to support Latin America based at their office in Florida, although Tom’s responsibilities will change in reference to some countries. Big Dutchman is confident that customers will find in Mark a professional who is fully committed to meeting their needs while instilling the values Big Dutchman has developed over its 70 years in the marketplace.

Big Dutchman acquires Poultry Management Systems Inc.

Big Dutchman, a leader in poultry and pig production equipment, has acquired a majority interest in Poultry Management Systems, Inc. (PMSI), located in Saranac, Michigan, USA. PMSI holds the majority of the market share in the USA and Canada in computer controls for the egg production industry. PMSI was founded in 1980 by Stephen Herbruck who will remain a shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Doug Powell, its president, will maintain his position. PMSI will continue its operations in Saranac and will continue to operate as a fully independent company.
"The similarities between Big Dutchman and PMSI led us to make this acquisition," says Clovis Rayzel, President of Big Dutchman, Inc., "PMSI and Big Dutchman share common values such as being customer driven, solutions oriented, and forward thinking."
